2013 Accord Sedan

Honda has released images of the 2013 Accord Sedan and Coupe, the ninth generation of the best-selling model. Interior space is said to be increased, while overall length is down. The front end, complete with LED running lights, looks more refined. A beautiful update for 2013.

No interior shots have been released yet. The Accord is set to go on sale this fall. See the press release below.

Honda has announced it's new infotainment system that will debut in the 2013 Accord and 2013 Crosstour.  HondaLink is similar to competing companies infotainment offering such as, Ford sync, BMW iDrive, or Mercedes Comand.

2012 Accord Coupe Concept

 Honda is getting ready to unveil its line of “Earth Dream” engines.  The engines are slated to be incorporated throughout their lineup, but will be making its debut in the Accord this fall.  According to an Automotive News report, the engines (with direct-injected, & variable valve timing) are reputed to increase fuel economy by 10 percent over their current engine lineup, while producing 10 percent more power.  All without changing displacement.

Honda Diesel?

Unbeknownst to some Canadians Honda offers a full line of diesel motors in all their cars & trucks in Europe. Now the market for diesels in Canada is strong, but obviously not enough to warrant a diesel in every model. There are a few cases for the diesel to makes it way to our, sometimes frosted, shores. The all new 2012 CR-V is a pretty good candidate.

Parenting magazine has recognized the Honda Odyssey Touring Elite as one of the year's "Smartest Family Cars" in its February 2012 issue, on stands now.

New Accord Stuns Canadian International Autoshow

The Accord concept at the Canadian International Autoshow.  While not a visibly radical departure from the current model, it still is a very fetching update. The base engine is a new Earth Dreams 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder with direct injection, putting 181 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque to the ground via a continuously variable transmission. Honda will continue to offer a V6 in the Accord measuring 3.5 liters, mated to either a manual or automatic transmission, both with six gears.  A timeline for production of the new Accord should be early 2013. Whether it will look this good, I guess we'll have to wait & see.

Honda Delivers First Fit EV To California

With an expected lease price of $399 and a range of 198 kilometres in the city from a 20-kWh lithium-ion battery, the Fit does offer up some good numbers. Throw in a three-hour recharge time (from a 240V, Level 2 charger) and you've got a potential winner. Canadian availability is not yet known.
